senteprys van R1 697 per ton vir mielies vir die komende seisoen,
verswak die verhouding tussen die dieselprys en die mielieprys
steeds (

).
KORTING OP DIESEL
Die Nasionale Tesourie se verhoging van die algemene brand-
stofheffing en die Padongelukkefondsheffing het op 1 April 2014
in werking getree. As gevolg daarvan het die dieselkorting
vanaf 175 sent per liter tot 187 sent per liter gestyg (
Grafiek 6
).
DIESELKORTINGSTELSEL
Die formaat en uitleg van 'n diesellogboek is onder die
vergrootglas geplaas. Die SAID se terugvoer op voorstelle vir
‘n praktiese logboek word afgewag.
Die landboumasjineriebedryf
Landboumasjinerieverkope hang van talle faktore af met
prys die belangrikste daarvan. Die meeste Suid-Afrikaanse
landboumasjinerie word ingevoer. Die verswakking van die
waarde van die rand dra dus tot hoë pryse vir landbou-
masjinerie by, en omgekeerd.

decreased by 1,08% in the same period.
With the higher average diesel price and an expected
producer price of R1 697 per ton for maize for the coming
season, the ratio between the diesel price and the maize price
continues to weaken (
Graph 5
).
DIESEL REBATE
The National Treasury’s increase of the general fuel levy and the
Road Accident Fund levy came into effect on 1 April 2014. As
a result the diesel rebate increased from 175 cents per litre to
187 cents per litre (
Graph 6
).
DIESEL REBATE SYSTEM
The format and layout of a diesel logbook were scrutinised.
Feedback by SARS on proposals for a practical logbook are
awaited.
The agricultural machinery industry
Agricultural machinery sales depend on many factors, with
price being the most significant one. Most South African
agricultural machinery is imported. The weakening of the rand
therefore contributes to higher agricultural machinery prices
and vice versa.
