TheAXION900 range at NAMPO
I
n 2012 Claas added the AXION 900 range to its family of large
tractors. With its enormous pullingpower, ease of operation and
wealth of intelligent systems, the AXION 900 range opens up
great potential inmany highlydemanding applications.
“The mighty Claas quite literally sent the DLG dyno into a spin
– pumpingout 270 kW, 367 hp and 363 PS at rated speed andnudg-
ing a staggering 277 kW, 367 hp and 371 PS at amaximum output.
To date, these are the best statistics the DLG has recorded from a
conventional wheeled tractor.” (
Profi
magazine, December 2013)
The AXION 900 range is built around a fully integrated frame that
incorporates a self-supporting crankcase andembedded sump. This
new chassis design provides the AXION 900 range with the ability
to handle heavy loads without additional bracing. As a result, the
rear linkage has amaximum lift capacity of 11 tonnes, the engine is
controlled using a Claas advanced enginemanagement system that
is designed to provide optimum performance and torque. To help
enable this, the engine incorporates on-demand Visctronic cooling,
which reduces fuel consumption and enginenoise.
“With such a powerful performance, surely the AXIONmust knock
back thediesel?Well, not at all. TheDLGmeasured236g/kWhat rat-
ed speed and even down to 222 g/kWh at maximum output.” (
