How to store our most
precious resource

SA Grain Storage Solutions is one of the largest manufac-
tures of water storage solutions in South Africa and also
supplies solar pumps to accompany them. The company
specialises in the manufacturing of corrugated steel reser-
voirs and relining existing concrete and earth dams with PVC linings.
There is a misconception amongst the broader part of the agri-
cultural community that erecting a new corrugated reservoir is an
expensive option. However, if you calculate the cost per litre of
storage you will see that corrugated steel reservoirs are a lot more
affordable than other conventional options like PVC tanks and con-
structing new concrete dams.
RSA Grain Storage Solutions realised that there were an abundance
of old concrete and corrugated steel dams on most farms that
had become unusable due to deterioration over the years. Putting
a PVC liner in one of these old dams, at the fraction of the price of
a new dam, breathes new life into something that would otherwise
have been wasted.
We believe that renewable energy is the way forward for all divi-
sions of the agricultural sector. That is why we saw the need for so-
lar pumps and panels and realised we had to diversify our product
range to include these into our solutions.
Solar energy is seen as the most sustainable of the renewable
energy sources as it creates no pollution and requires no fuel. The
panels also do not require perfect environmental conditions to
function. Peak performance is reached with certain prerequisites
but even on cloudy days the panels still harvest enough energy to
run a small motor and/or pump.
The company offers solutions that in these harsh times of drought
offer producers the opportunity to collect and store water which
is one of our most valuable resources. One of the lesser known
solutions is relining old existing dams or newly built earth dams. The
PVC liner offers a perfect seal to negate any water loss due to cracks
or seeping through the ground.
We also offer a range of options when it comes to closing off the
reservoirs or dams. From steel roofs to shade net covers all of our
products are designed to keep debris out of the reservoir or dam and
to limit the water loss from evaporation.
RSA Grain Storage Solutions’ strength lies in the fact that all our
products are manufactured at our facility in the Free State and
that we have total control over the process. This enables us to of-
fer each client a personalised experience and makes it possible for
us to design our products around every client’s specific needs or
specifications.
