ake sure to remember your camera if you take on the
big trek during May to Grain SA’s NAMPO Harvest Day.
It is the ideal opportunity for amateur photographers to
take photos that portray this year’s competition theme,
‘agriculture in full colour’.
Remember: Colour is an important part of a photo’s composition
(unless you’re shooting black and white of course). Colour is as
much a part of a photo’s composition as other building blocks such
as shape, form, texture, lines and light.

US landbou-ekonome
vat voor op wêreldverhoog

wee landbou-ekonome van die Universiteit Stellenbosch
(US) is verkies vir die hoogste leierskapsposisies in twee in-
ternasionale verenigings.
Prof Nick Vink is aangewys as aangewese president van die
Internasionale Vereniging van Landbou-ekonome (IAAE). Op sy
beurt dien prof Johan van Rooyen as die nuwe president van IFAMA,
‘n internasionale vereniging wat fokus op die bestuur van voedsel-
en agribesighede.
Nie net is albei die eerste persone uit Afrika om hierdie toonaange-
wende verenigings te lei nie, maar dit is ook die eerste keer dat die
leierskap van beide instellings vanuit dieselfde universiteit kom.
Proff Vink en Van Rooyen is albei Nasionale Navorsingstigting
(NNS)-geëvalueerde navorsers verbonde aan die US se Departe-
ment Landbou-ekonomie in die Fakulteit AgriWetenskappe.
