1: Grain SA thanked the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform for their contribution to the Grain SA Farmer Development Programme.
‘Your continued support is changing the lives of developing grain farmers involved in various projects.’ Louw Steytler (chairperson: Grain SA)
presented Dr Moshe Swartz (deputy director general: Land Redistribution and Development) with the special award.
2: Recognition was also given to the Department of Science and Technology for their investment towards research in the grain industry, enabling the
local grain industry to stay on the cutting edge of new technology. Dr Maneshree Jugmohan-Naidu (director: Biotechnology, Department of Science
and Technology) received the award from Louw Steytler.
3: Dr Cobus le Roux (general manager: ARC-Field Crops Division) received a special award at Congress in recognition of a lifelong dedication to
research and development of small grains, grain crops and industrial crops in South Africa. Louw Steytler presented the award.

1: Die pers wys elke jaar die beste spreker by Kongres aan en vanjaar het die
toekenning aan Derek Mathews (Graan SA-hoofbestuurslid vir Streek 5) gegaan.
Louw Steytler (voorsitter: Graan SA) het die toekenning aan hom oorhandig.
2: Petru Fourie (navorsingskoördineerder en produksiekoste-analis, Graan SA) se
artikel “Winsgewendheid: Beplan só vir die nuwe seisoen” in die Augustus 2015-
uitgawe van
SA Graan/Grain
, is deur die Redaksiekomitee aangewys as die beste
artikel in die afgelope jaar. Theo Ferreira (voorsitter: Redaksiekomitee) het die
prysgeld aan haar oorhandig en Louw Steytler het haar gelukgewens.
3: Koster wys gewoonlik by Kongres die beste reeks artikels in die tydskrif aan, maar
vanjaar het hulle ‘n uitsondering gemaak en die skild aan Johan Loxton (bestuurder:
Kommersiële Dienste) oorhandig vir die werk wat hy as besturende redakteur
gedoen het om die tydskrif verder uit te bou. Vic Mouton het die wisseltrofee aan
hom oorhandig, terwyl Louw Steytler die oomblik met hulle deel.
