2: On Friday, 13 October during the Grain SA Grain Producers of the Year 2017 awards ceremony held at Kyalami, Edwin received his award.

3: Edwin is a member of the 1 000 Ton Club. Soils are precisely analysed and used as a departure point for production. This season he has
planted 200 ha of maize and is praying for a healthy crop.
4: The healthy Brahman herd of 45 is Edwin’s pride and joy.
5: His mixed farming enterprise also comprises of a mutton merino component.
6: Edwin and Othenia celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in September 2017. They have six children – four daughters and two sons.
