BVG in partnership with Landbou.com, Landbouweekblad, JSE, BKBGrainCo, BVG and Grain SA launched the 2018 Fantasy Hedging Competition and now is the time to get those profiles active and the transactions going. Remember, in addition to the prizes up for grabs, Grain SA will be sponsoring an additional R10 000 to the Grain SA member who comes first. Endeavouring to offer users the best possible experience, BVG has made improvements to the trading software to ensure a more realistic trading experience and new functionality has been built where participants can enter their orders which will be executed once the price gets to their trigger price. The finalists will be announced during NAMPO Harvest Day, with the winner's announcement taking place later in the year at a prestigious gala event. |
Move with the times Inventive producers again have the opportunity to demonstrate modified agricultural equipment. The purpose of the Boerepatente (Farmers’ patent) competition is to encourage producers with original ideas, to share the equipment that they built for special use or with a view of finding solutions Producers participating in the Farmers' Patents Competition presented during Grain SA's NAMPO Harvest Day (15-18 May 2018) can also collect R10,000 for their farmers' association or study group this year. Any paid-up member of a farmers' association or study group who enrolls a farm patent under categories A to D, will automatically form part of the judging for this additional prize. Videos of patents, in any of the categories, will also be accepted as entry this year. |
