Today, we had the opportunity to attend a workshop in Petrus Steyn focused on discussing and planning the future of the long-term crop rotation trial, which will be planted for its 11th year in 2026. 🌱

Anne-Marie van der Merwe from Potatoes SA (Potato Nation ) led the workshop, outlining its purpose and objectives. Professor Martin Steyn from the University of Pretoria provided valuable background on the trial and a summary of previous results, helping inform discussions on the way forward.

The workshop created an opportunity to share knowledge, explore region-specific crop rotation programmes for the Eastern Free State, and strengthen efforts towards sustainable farming practices and long-term productivity.
