Grain SA presented its 2021 Annual Congress virtually last week with great success. During the congress, CEO of Grain SA, Jannie de Villiers, said the organisation is always setting trends in the grain industry and the virtual congress has set the bar for events in line with regulations during the global Covid-19 pandemic.
With the virtual platform, more delegates could be accommodated and farmers were able to voice their opinions and interact with the panel throughout the proceedings. The voting processes ran smoothly and the customary break-away sessions on the second day focused on crop specific issues through various Zoom-meetings.
In addition to welcoming members on the virtual platform, Grain SA broadcast the first session of Congress via Live Stream with 1,125 guests and role players following proceedings to date. The success and longevity of a live stream will give the organisation even further opportunity to reach a broader audience in future, even when events are allowed to resume.
