COMPACT EQUIPMENT
– a successful addition to South African agriculture
O
ne of the reasons why LiuGong compact machines prove
to be so popular in South African agriculture is because of
their versatility. Because of this they are being used in a
wide variety of applications. Their mini excavators can be
found at work in farming on large-scale forestry projects, opening
and cleaning irrigation canals, and in many other fields of agriculture
throughout the country.
There are various models of the excavators ranging from 4 ton,
6 ton, 8 ton and 15 ton operating weights with special attachments
and bucket types, especially for forestry projects in cycle of plant-
ing and cutting. With their bulldozers – models B160 and the bigger
model B230 – stump removal is no longer such an issue.
TLBs have over the years become an indispensable part of modern
farming with a variety of uses. LiuGong model 777A has been newly
developed with a bigger size front and rear tyres, a wider and more
functional cab, telescopic boom, extra pipeline, air conditioner and
many other applications.
It is not surprising that the company’s wheel loaders are revolu-
tionary. This time the compact model CLG816, a small giant with a
0,8 m

bucket capacity, is available with clamping and fork attach-
ments which would be one of your best partners to clamp bales, load
grain into a granary or even use on sugar cane fields.
Still bigger size models such as 835, 842 and new 856H can remove
a considerable amount of cow manure from yards every day so that
it can in turn be composted and used as a soil conditioner.
The multi-functional skid steer loaders of LiuGong could be the
better buy for you if you are primarily driven by applications. The
CLG365, 375 and 385 models are all ready for the job with a six in
one bucket, auger, bale spike, breaker, sweeper, farm fork or grapple.
There are many more options to choose from.
If you don’t need the maneuverability or the wide range of attach-
ments that skid steers offer, you may still want to take a second look
at LiuGong’s compact wheel loaders.
Skid steer loaders will save you lots of time on the field and are much
cheaper, but fuel and tyres for the compact wheel loaders will cost
you less and the potential for increased productivity may be a better
option in the long run.
