The widespread rain over the past few weeks has generally allowed summer grain crops to recover very well. Due to the largest percentage of grain crops being planted outside the optimal planting dates, average to below average yields are generally expected. The number of heat units on specifically the later plantings will determine the development of the crop. The occurrence of early frosts remains a concern. Follow-up rain remains critical.
