01 Aug 2011The Basic Conditions of Employment Act requires labour department officials to apply for appointments with farmers, in writing, before paying inspection visits to any farm. This is according to Braam Cilliers, an agricultural labour consultant in Bothaville, who Farmer’s Weekly contacted for clarification on the matter after receiving a number of complaints from farmers about unannounced visits from labour officials.
