16 Apr 2008The challenge of successful farming lies in finding a winning formula, of which each element is in balance and contributes to sustainable production. Similarly, the more than 620 exhibitors at the NAMPO Harvest Day ? presented by Grain SA on 13 - 16 May ? have been handpicked to support visitors in order for them to find a unique formula for success.
?Preparations on the terrain are in full swing. NAMPO Park, the home of the Harvest Day, is in excellent condition and we are looking forward to a successful Harvest Day with a wide variety of products and services being presented. The growing interest shown by exhibitors in taking part in this agricultural trade show, justly confirms the uniqueness of the event,? says Mr Jub Jubelius, Chairman of the NAMPO Harvest Day. He added that exhibitors from Argentina, Australia, China and Germany are among the exhibitors.
After the absence of practical demonstrations during the 2007 NAMPO Harvest Day, the manufacturers and distributors of implements are back on their posts but now with interactive demonstrations, presented on demand. As in the past, static exhibitions may be viewed at stands, but a visitor interested in a practical demonstration of a specific implement, can arrange this with the particular exhibitor. The demonstration will then be done at the demonstration site.
From implements to vehicles?the always-popular 4x4 demonstrations will take place daily at 11:00 and 15:00 at the 4x4 site. The interactive model will also be applied here with several of the vehicle exhibitors giving visitors the opportunity of not only viewing the product, but also enjoying a demonstration ride as a passenger. This successful concept has become a trademark feature of the vehicle section at the NAMPO Harvest Day, and it is expected to once again be a popular attraction.
The Ladies Programme, presented in the SAMPI hall, consists of a colourful programme with interesting themes. As usual, the mornings will be lightened up by a daily fashion show in the Fanie Ferreira hall at 11:00.
Another popular item on the Harvest Day menu is the farmers? patents competition where producers? ingenious inventions are to be seen.
Members of Grain SA will be able to utilise the exclusive parking area for members as well as the members? lounge, where they will be able to meet Grain SA Executive Committee members and senior personnel members.
