21 Oct 2011South African maize futures ended a tad higher on Thursday, boosted by the weaker rand against the US dollar.
The rand slipped to 8.10 to the greenback in intraday trading, from 8.03 previously.
Andrew Fletcher, a trader with Unigrain, said market players awaited the South African Grain Information monthly report on the actual size of the local grain crop. The report will be released on Friday.
