La Niña set to influence 2011/12 summer grain production
20 Oct 2011 La Niña conditions are still developing over central, eastern and north-eastern parts of SA and will continue to affect our weather until at least March or April next year, according to forecasters.
“This means that there is a good chance the rains over the summer grain production areas might start late this year and we can expect average to above-average rains in the 2011/2012 planting season.
