GM crop craze continues

THE rapid uptake of genetically modified crops across the world shows no sign of slowing. Figures from the International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-Biotech Applications reveal the use of GM crops has increased 87-fold in the past 15 years. Last year the area planted to GM crops increased by 14 million hectares to 148 million hectares - or 10 per cent of the world's croplands.
