Farmer of the Year — meet our finalists

The main goal of the Grain SA farmer of the year competition is not about winning, but about celebrating the learning, growth, development and hard work of the thousands of farmers who are part of the Farmer Development Programme. 

After the judges looked at the farming enterprises of the nominees, the following farmers were selected as finalists for the 2022 competition:

New Era Commercial Farmer
(more than 250 tons)

Potential New Era Farmer 
(51 ha to 249 tons)

Smallholder Farmer
(11 ha to 50 ha)

Subsistence Farmer
(1 ha to 10 ha)
