Among the fields of gold
W
inter time: One of the most beautiful and the most
colourful times in the Overberg. No wonder the three
winning photos of this month’s competition capture
the beauty of the canola fields of the Western Cape. We
are for sure experiencing what Sting means when he sings of the
fields of gold!
Remember: Capturing bold colours can be an especially powerful
way to create mood in a photo. Next time you want to experiment
with bold colours, keep the following four tips in mind:
Pay attention to all the colours in the photo, both neutral and
bold.
Use subtle lighting.
Use a polarising filter.
Experiment with f-stop.
