ecognising the need for more affordable storage solutions,
covers and liners, specialist manufacturer Power Plastics
has developed a simple yet effective solution for the pre-
servation of grain and other agricultural products.
The innovative wire mesh reservoir with a food-safe PVC inner liner
and an optional PVC cover allows producers to maintain the mar-
ket value of their crops and avoid losses due to rodents, insects as
well as offering protection from the natural elements.
The galvanised mesh reservoir is 1,2 m high and available in diam-
eters from 3 m to 7,5 m. The PVC liner is UV treated to ensure over-
all longevity of the storage reservoir.
Because Power Plastics strives to add value, it has been designed
with versatility in mind and can also be used for rainwater harvest-
ing. By adding a cover made from GeoBubble thermal material to
curb evaporation and prevent algae, it becomes a valuable fresh
water source in drought areas, storing 5 300 m
3
at its largest diam-
eter (7,5 m).

veral op die verskil in koringopbrengs waar koring na koring in dié
volgorde voorkom.
Samevatting
Die 2016-seisoen het oor die algemeen uitstekende resultate
opgelewer. Na die droë 2015 was die groot verskil in die opbrengs in
die Swartland verstommend en dui dit op die veerkragtigheid van die
bewaringslandboustelsels.
Die huidige seisoen in die Wes-Kaap lyk nie so rooskleurig nie. Baie
min reën is in die proefareas in die Suid-Kaap ontvang. Die reën
in die Swartland was effe beter, maar is steeds 12% minder as op
dieselfde tydstip tydens die droë 2015. Vir meer inligting, kontak
