A leadership development programme

Syngenta Grain Academy 2017

presented by thinking fusion

AFRICA and the UFS Business School.

Request for nomination

Syngenta and Grain SA hereby cordially invite young grain producers to nominate themselves to attend the highly

accredited (NQF level 7), highly successful (fifth year running), high impact (9 days) leadership development programme

titled: Leadership in the Connection Economy.

This unique programme is presented over three, three-day sessions at high-quality venues in Bloemfontein and Pretoria.

The programme can accommodate 25 young producers at a time.

Why a leadership development programme?

Syngenta and Grain SA believe that young farmers need to be equipped with leadership skills, not only to lead differently

on their farms but in particular to take the lead in agricultural bodies, agricultural debates, and in agricultural forums and

discussions with Government.

This programme was put together, and is accredited by the UFS Business School on NQF level 7 to do exactly that

and more. The central philosophy of this programme is that the

transformation

of organisations/farms/the agricultural

industry requires the transformation of its leaders. This requires

leadership capacity

; the development of which this

programme promises. The programme is founded in the scientific evidence that

emotional intelligence and social

intelligence

are the true differentiating skill sets of a leader.

Systems thinking

skill development is consideredas the cognitivedifferentiator of leaders facedwith complexproblematic

situations.

Diversity

is woven into the programme design and delivery because of the reality that diversity brings not only

complexity to the world of a leader, but also because it presents exceedingly more potential benefits to leaders with a

mind-set of valuing diversity.
