A
ccording to the idiom, a picture is worth a thousand
words. In this case the picture is worth R10 000. The win-
ners of the 2016 Grain SA/Sasol photo competition was
announced at a special handing-over ceremony during the
Grain SA NAMPO Harvest Day in May this year. The theme for the
Grain SA/Sasol competition of 2016 was ‘Agriculture in full colour’.
Tinus Pistorius from Nigel was selected as
winner in the April competition and received
a R1 500 in cash for his photo ‘Mistige ogggend
op Holgatfontein’.
Here are Theo Ferreira (chairman:
SA Graan/Grain
Editorial
Committee), Richard Krige, Hendrik de Waal (winner), Jan Rheeder
(third) and Hennie de Kock (senior manager: Marketing and Sales,
Sasol Fertilisers and Base Chemicals) in front of the winning photos,
that were exhibited at the handing-over ceremony. Franci Swart (insert)
got second place in the competition. She could unfortunately not
attend the handing-over ceremony and the Grain SA Executive
Committee member for her area, Richard Krige (second from left),
received her price money on her behalf.
Congratulations to Marina Vorster from Lichtenburg whose photo
‘Eens ‘n stoor...’ won her a cash prize of R1 500.
