usqvarna Fleet Services – the cloud-based service that

enables landscapers to view their entire fleet inventory

both out in the field and in the warehouse. Fleet Services

is a solution that collects data to help professional land-

scaping teams increase productivity, sustainability and

operator well-being by replacing guestimates with in-

disputable facts.

The service is beneficial to professional landscapers that are

looking to maximise uptime and efficiency. With the system, land-

scapers can monitor the well-being of their operators, optimise their

machine fleet and eliminate unnecessary downtime, resulting in

more sustainable landscaping.

This enables professionals and operators to get real insights into

and data of their day-to-day operations by mounting a small wireless

machine sensor (data collector) to an outdoor power product. The

sensor uploads machine data to the cloud where it is analysed and

processed by a set of conclusion makers for maintenance, machine

usage, health and safety, etc. The data is hence transformed from

‘just data’ to ‘information and conclusions’, helping the landscaper

to get new business insights.

Increased productivity and sustainability

With the collected data, landscapers can plan if a machine needs

to be serviced or if spare parts need to be ordered from their dealers.

This effectively helps to reduce unforeseen disruptions and allows for

a proactive maintenance approach, thereby allowing for maximum

uptime and reducing the carbon foot print.

Aside from gathering data on machine usage, we also take

into account operators and their safety. By calculating vibration ex-

posure levels and providing tips on better ways to work, we try to

promote a healthier workday and smarter way to work overall. As

a result, productivity can thereby be positively affected, since user

fatigue and strain can be lessened.

Working in tandem: Online portal

and smartphone app

This service is a comprehensive solution for the whole landscaping

team, with an online portal for managers and technicians and a

smartphone app for operators out in the field.

The online portal is where all collected data is aggregated for

analysis and can show both broad trends as well as specific data

on a set of machines or even down to a specific engine session. The

online portal also gives possibilities to optimise the entire fleet and

provide advanced planning, like when servicing needs to take place

for certain types of machines, allowing workers to focus on another

task instead. Technicians are also kept informed of machine status,

so spare parts can be ordered or servicing booked before a break-

down occurs.

Our smartphone app is focused on aiding the landscaping

team during their workday. The app supports on-site operations and

supplies the landscaping team with information on the work order

on the map and the customer list. It even has the ability to capture

and submit new business opportunities (unattended green spaces

not included in the current assignment).

Compatible across our existing range

Husqvarna Fleet Services enables a broad range of data services on

Husqvarna products already in a landscaper’s fleet, eliminating the

need to purchase an entire range of the newest products.

Our machine sensor has been specially designed for Husqvarna

Commercial Lawn and Garden products in mind, such as ride-on

mowers, walk-behind mowers, and the handheld commercial range

with trimmers, backpack blowers, hedge-trimmers and chainsaws.

For third party machines, a smaller set of data subscriptions will be

made available.

Hardware and data

The sensor platform for the service consists of a machine sensor for

each machine, an optional operator tag (OpTag) and a base sta-

tion to transmit the data to the cloud. All collected data is thereafter

accessed via an online portal or a mobile application.

Subscription and pricing

This sensor is priced at R256 excluding VAT, with a minimal monthly

subscription fee starting at just R18,40 (excluding VAT) per month for

the two-year plan.
