Be an even better photographer

A

ccording to Lisa Clarke, a photojournalist from Australia,

these tips helped her to improve her photographic skills

over the years:

Before taking a photograph, make sure you check where

the light is coming from. If you shoot with the light

source to the side or behind the subject, you can create a

more interesting photo.

Be aware of the background.

Crouch or lie down, or elevate your position for an even

better view.

Take a step or two closer to your subject for more vibrant

detail.

On an extremely bright day, use the flash outside to prevent

harsh shadows on your subject.

Remember the rule of thirds: Cut your frame into thirds by

using both horizontal and vertical lines and place your point

of interest over the cross sections of the grid.

Include only one or two points of interest to avoid a confusing

picture.

Start shooting with your mind: Think of how you’d compose

a picture of a specific scene that interests you.

Don’t check the screen immediately after taking a photograph,

as you can miss out on a special moment.
