agnesium isessential foroptimal
plant development, as it is
involved in photosynthesis and
a number of other plant-internal
transport processes. Within the plant,
magnesium is highly mobile. In case of an
insufficient magnesium supply, the plant
will transfer it fromolder to younger leaves,
in order to ensure healthy shoot growth.
There is a high demand formagnesium and
potassium inchloroplasts forefficientuseof
light energy in photosynthetic CO
2
fixation,
especially under high light andheat stress.
The mineral kieserite is used worldwide to
ensure an optimal supply of magnesium
and sulphur to plants. Kieserite products of
K+S KALI GmbH have a long tradition and
a worldwide reputation as tried and tested
fertilisers for cultivation in agriculture,
horticulture and forestry.
Kieserite (MgSO4 • H
2
O) occurs naturally
and is mined from the potash deposits of
K+S KALI GmbH in Germany. It is a highly
effective soluble form of magnesium
sulphate: Kieserite is pH-neutral and offers
plants magnesium and sulphur in a form
that canbe immediately absorbed.
